anyone can submit fan comics to o-r-b! just keep in mind the following do's, don't's and suggestions:
style:
- simple lineart over a white background with (preferably) no coloring is preferred for consistency
- ivory and mint's exact hex colors are #C2BF6B and #7EAF81. you do not have to use them, but make sure they're
close at least! (except if the joke requires otherwise)
- remember, their eyes ARE two big white circles! they're not part of my usual artstyle!
layout:
- you can draw comics in any format you want! however vertical comics are preferred for consistency and less code
tinkering on my end
- your comic can also be any length! at least 3 pannels is recommended for pacing, but you can make 2 or even 1
panel comics if the punchline warrants it
- unusual/alternate formats, experimental/interactive comics (like the picross one) and bending/ditching all of the
above rules (including style) is allowed if you can pull it off nicely! (just keep in mind that i still need to be
able to implement your submission on the website)
writing:
- you can make any punchline you want in your comic, except for the following:
- putting pedophillia and bigotrism in a good light
- attacks on individuals, groups of people or nations/cultures
- "cringe culture" humor and shaming anything deemed "cringe" by the internet
- implying that mint & ivory dislike each other or want to break up (unless they are explicitly joking about it)
- sexual humor, innuendo and sexual implications are ok to write, but nudity and explicit imagery are not allowed
as this is a website for ages over 16 (you may post explicit O.R.B. art on your own platforms, so long as minors
cant see it)
- it doesn't have to be excllusively comedy oriented. make them kiss and say gay things too, if you want
submitting:
- please submit through my discord dms (@caramel64). i might accept email submissions in the future!
- i'd prefer not being asked about when your comic is gonna be uploaded. all comics are subject to a queue, in
which i sometimes switch up some places in order to make for better pacing. if i can confirm your comic will be
uploaded soon, i'll tell you myself
- i may make suggestions to change the writing or structure so as to improve them or to make them fit o.r.b.'s
humor style better. you don't have to take them, and i will make sure to only suggest them if i see a golden
opportunity, but its recommended (for example: the lost hat comic was originally one image!)
- i'd prefer if you didn't publicly showcase your comic until i do so myself, at least on public spaces (for
example, between friend groups its fine), this is to avoid spoilers on new strips. you will be properly credited
when i publish your comic, and after i do so you may feel free to promote yourself all you want
- i may reject a comic for any reason if i am not comfy with uploading it
